Marigold ochre is the sunniest colour in the Leher set, and on a full-bellied vase it does the job a lamp would do in a dim corner. The stripes were brushed on freehand, each in a single pass, so the weight shifts as the hand travelled around the belly. Good with dried grasses through the dry months, and made for actual marigolds when the season turns. It photographs well, but it is better in a room.
Hand-thrown and hand-finished in small batches, so shape, glaze pooling and pattern vary a little piece to piece. That variation is the point, not a flaw.
