The tortoiseshell glaze on this mug is genuinely unrepeatable. It streaks and runs darker toward the rim, breaks differently over the vertical ribs, and every firing shifts it, so no two mugs come out the same. Inside is near-black. It is warm, heavy and a little old-fashioned in the best way, the mug that ends up as someone's favourite. The ribbing gives real grip on a cold morning, and it holds a proper amount.
Hand-thrown and hand-finished in small batches, so shape, glaze pooling and pattern vary a little piece to piece. That variation is the point, not a flaw.
