The lounging cat in smoky charcoal with ochre dots down the back and a curled swirl of a tail.

Same stretch, same curled tail, different mood. Where the indigo Catnap is bright, this one is smoky charcoal with ochre dots running down its back, and it reads as calmer for it. The dots are nerikomi, laid into the clay before the cat was built, so they run right through. Lower and longer than most shelf objects, it solves the horizontal gap between two upright things. Built by hand in small batches, and the face is never quite the same twice.

Nerikomi: the pattern is built through the clay before the piece is formed, and every piece is cut by hand, so no two are identical.
