The ribbing on this mug is not decoration first. It gives real grip, which matters more than it sounds when the mug is hot and your hands are cold. The saturated cobalt glaze runs inside and out, and the light catches the flutes so a row of them on a shelf reads almost like glass. Hand-thrown, so the ribs are cut a little differently on each, and the blue is as deep as it looks in the photograph.
Hand-thrown and hand-finished in small batches, so shape, glaze pooling and pattern vary a little piece to piece. That variation is the point, not a flaw.
