It is softer and lower in tone than the large seashell chime, and better suited to a doorway than an open balcony, where the sound stays close. Each shell is cut from laminated clay, so the banding differs on every one. Sixty-five centimetres from stick to base.
Nerikomi: the pattern is built through the clay before the piece is formed, and every piece is cut by hand, so no two are identical.
