Turtle Nerikomi Ceramic Bell Hanging - Blue Floral
- Flowers laid into the clay one by one
- Indigo and yellow: the classic Kachhua pairing
- Feet that dangle and catch the air
- For a doorway, window or verandah
Mon-Fri: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (IST)
A turtle-shaped bell with an indigo shell worked in small yellow cross-hatch flowers, four feet dangling underneath, on a plain cord.
Every one of the small yellow cross-hatch flowers on this indigo shell was built into the clay individually before the bell was formed. That is what nerikomi asks of the maker, and it is why the flowers sit slightly differently on each turtle. Four feet dangle underneath and give it the swing. Hung from a plain cord, it turns slowly on its own in a doorway, a window or on a verandah.
Nerikomi: the pattern is built through the clay before the piece is formed, and every piece is cut by hand, so no two are identical.
