The best Diwali gifts under ₹1,500 are the ones that get used: a glass carafe with its own tumbler, a nerikomi figurine, a cup and saucer for the morning tea. At this price a handmade piece still looks considered rather than token, and it is the band for most of the people on the list: friends, the couple next door, colleagues you actually like, the cousin you see twice a year.
Everything below is handmade in India in small runs, in stock as we write, and priced at what it costs today. Delivery is free on every order, with no minimum. If you are buying for a bigger occasion, our Diwali gifts under ₹2,500 guide covers the next band up, and the Diwali gift guide 2026 sorts the whole studio by person.
At ₹1,499: the pieces that look like more
Bedside glass carafe and tumbler set, ₹1,499. A slim hand-blown carafe with a tumbler that sits upside down over the neck as its lid, so water stays covered overnight and the glass is there in the morning. In cobalt blue, teal, sky blue and lime green. It is the gift almost nobody buys for themselves and everybody uses every night once they have one.
A nerikomi figurine, ₹1,499. The Catnap reclining cat in indigo, the little Hathi elephant in indigo or charcoal and ochre, or the spotted dog. Nerikomi is a Japanese technique in which coloured clays are layered and sliced, so the pattern runs right through the clay rather than sitting on the surface. Each one is different from the one beside it, which makes it the gift for the person who has everything. What is nerikomi? explains the technique.
A Dune speckled nerikomi bowl, ₹1,499. In sea green, deep blue and cream and indigo. The nerikomi piece that sits out on a table rather than on a shelf.
The radial ceramic salad bowl in indigo, ₹1,499. Hand-painted lines running out from the centre like a compass. For the friend who hosts, and who is always one serving bowl short in Diwali week.

₹999 to ₹1,399: the considered gift
- Star Lariat anti-tarnish set, ₹1,399. A lariat necklace set in blue. Like all our jewellery it is imitation jewellery, gold-toned plating over a brass base, made to be worn often. Keep it dry and put it on after perfume.
- Chevron hand-painted bottle vase in indigo, ₹1,299. For the marigolds at Diwali, and for whatever is in season after.
- Genda marigold cup and plate set, ₹999. A hand-painted cup with its own small plate, for the tea and the one biscuit. The gift for parents and grandparents.
- Floral rim dinner plate, sepia, large, ₹999. For the box of mithai that arrives from someone else and needs a better home.
- Blue floral ceramic storage jar, ₹999. For dry fruit now and for tea leaves after.
Two small pieces, one proper gift
Two pieces under ₹1,000 often make a better gift than one at ₹1,500, because they arrive as a set. A few that add up to under ₹1,500:
- A floral coaster pair (₹799) and a ribbed glass highball tumbler (₹699): ₹1,498. A drink, sorted.
- The Gulabi heart cup and saucer (₹899) and a wool-felt owl hanging (₹499): ₹1,398. Tea, and something to look at while it cools.
- A Leher striped vase in cobalt (₹899) and a floral oval snacks plate (₹599): ₹1,498. Flowers and sweets for the host.
- A bell jar reed diffuser bottle in green (₹899) and a pair of mini flower anti-tarnish studs (₹599): ₹1,498. Something for the home and something for her.
- Oval drop anti-tarnish hoops (₹799) and mini flower anti-tarnish studs (₹599): ₹1,398. One pair for the festival, one for every day after.

When to order, and how it arrives
Diwali is on 8 November this year and Dhanteras on 6 November. Allow up to 10 business days: orders are dispatched within 1 to 3 business days and delivered 3 to 7 business days after that, and festive weeks can add a little time. Our pieces are made in small runs, so the colour you want is more likely to be there in October.
Mark the order as a gift in the tote and add a note: we print it on a card and leave the invoice out, so the price is not shown. The note is free, and gift wrap is ₹350 if you want it.
Ceramics are microwave safe unless they have metal parts. Wash ceramics and glass by hand with a soft sponge and mild soap. How to care for handmade ceramics is worth passing on with the gift.
Common questions
What is a good Diwali gift under ₹1,500?
A bedside glass carafe and tumbler set or a nerikomi figurine, both ₹1,499. The carafe gets used every night; the figurine is one of a kind, because the pattern runs through the clay.
What can I give a colleague for Diwali under ₹1,500?
A coaster pair with a ribbed glass highball, ₹1,498 together, or the marigold cup and plate set at ₹999. Useful, easy to carry home, and no two hand-painted pieces are the same.
Is delivery free?
Yes, on every order across India, with no minimum.
Can I send it straight to the person?
Yes. Enter their address as the delivery address at checkout and mark the order as a gift, so the invoice is left out and your note goes in.
Is the jewellery real gold?
No. It is imitation jewellery, gold-toned plating over a brass base with an anti-tarnish finish, and it is priced as such.
